What is coach supervision?
Coaching supervision offers coaches an opportunity to grow and develop through reflection and dialogue in a safe, supportive and confidential space.
If we look closer at the word itself: super-vision meaning over-sight, the practice of supervision is for the coach and their supervisor to reflect together and have over-sight of the coach’s practice in support of them being the very best coach they can be.
The function and scope of supervision covers four main areas:
- Quality Assurance and Ethical Practice
- Professional and Personal Development
- Support
- Wider Context
These main areas have been built on our fundamental principle-led practice and ethos.
Why do you need it?
Every coach will experience times when a coaching session leaves them feeling uneasy or dissatisfied, they feel stuck with a particular coachee, or perhaps have doubts or concerns around their wider coaching practice. Coach supervision gives us a legitimate place to talk things through and explore what’s going on.
In many professions, supervision would be viewed as essential to maintain, sustain, and evolve good practice, and failure to do so could have significant personal and professional consequences.
However, in the coaching industry, there is an inconsistent approach to supervision, and this is one of the reasons that the supervision collective was formed.
We aim to be at the forefront of supporting coaches to be invested in, whilst, assisting them to regulate and safeguard their coaching standards and practice.
What do we offer?
We offer supervision for coaches, coach mentors, and coach supervisors.
We offer supervision in the form of:
