Who we are!
Meet the Team
Like our clients, each of the team members have been on their own journeys of growth and development that have brought us together to this space and time - what we refer to as ‘our calling': Collectively we bring our experience, skills, knowledge, passion and a shared purpose - to serve.

Our core team includes: Michele, Ian, Raymy and Rona. You can discover more about each of them in their individual profiles here.
Michele Armstrong Founder/Director
As Founder of Acorn Principle Plus, Michele has experienced the value of working collaboratively to produce optimal results. After 20 years in community work and further education, Michele took her passion for learning and supporting others into coaching and, since 2001, has been working alongside clients to bring out the best in themselves and others. “My own learning journey has taught me that we are all connected and, as such, whatever we do for one another will impact our own growth and development. This is why I believe in inspiring partnerships - we do not need to ‘go it alone’ when we can co-create magic by working together. This is what the Team at Acorn Principle has been called to do.”
Ian Dunnett Coach / Mentor/ Trainer
Ian is an experienced coach, who has seen and felt the tangible benefits that coaching has made to himself and to many others. Ian brings a coaching perspective gained from over 35 years’ experience in a wide range of public sector management and customer facing roles. As we all continue to grapple with change, the pace of that change and to find ‘balance’ for ourselves amongst ‘all of that’, Ian has extensive experience and evidence of supporting a wide cross section of people through coaching, to explore their situation, their options and to find that balance. Ian feels truly privileged to be a coach.
Raymy Boyle Director / Mindfulness Teacher
As an experienced coach and mindfulness teacher, Raymy has supported many groups and individuals in finding balance in the busyness of their lives. His 30 + years of experience in social services has given him significant insight into organisational culture and leadership, areas he supports individuals and teams to explore and develop their own creative responses to.
As someone who has embraced life-long learning in his own life, he firmly believes that we have the opportunity for ongoing learning and growth, regardless of our circumstances. Raymy’s passion continues to be working with people in ways that serve them and, consequently, enables them to serve others.
Rona Doig
Rona is an experienced coach, mentor, people development practitioner and consultant who has worked with a range of stakeholders and clients across the private, public, Higher Education and charitable sectors in international contexts. She has 25+ years of experience working in a variety of leadership and development roles.
Coaching, mentoring and people development have been central themes throughout Rona’s career. She is continually motivated by developing and supporting an organisation’s coaching culture and passionate about helping individuals succeed and thrive in fast changing environments, supporting their growth and performance as they work towards achieving their goals. Rona often works with individual’s strengths profiles to help build self-awareness and confidence and make the most of a client’s unique range of strengths to get results.

Get in touchSupporting people to make decisions and follow through
“To step outside their comfort zone even though they are terrified to do so and believing the best is in there - even when they don't believe it themselves. This is the stuff dreams are made of and why I do the job I do now. I love coaching because I love seeing people become the people they were born to be. This might be working towards personal or professional desires, career goals or within special interest groups (such as parenting or self development). And this is why we, at Acorn Principle, are committed to building inspiring partnerships, to work alongside people, to support them to get where they want to go… and beyond. We run in-house group coaching programmes, inspiring partnership groups (for personal growth), mindfulness and 1:1 coaching. In addition, I love to train others to become Transformational Coaches (like this lovely group of graduates celebrating completion of the Advanced Certificate in Coaching Practice) so that they too can experience the whole-hearted living that comes from helping others to connect with their true purpose”
